Description
La Botica de Almar is a cozy pixel-art potion game: run the Brezo apothecary for 30 days, brew in the alembic and grow the shop, before the adventure of El Aprendiz de Almar.
La Botica de Almar is Lopand Game Studio's fourth game, in development for Android. Master Orbel, the alchemist of Brezo, goes away for a month and leaves his apothecary with his apprentices, the twins Enna and Tiago. For 30 days they gather ingredients, brew potions and serve the village's neighbors until he returns.
It's a cozy, front-view pixel-art shop management game: each day has its morning (the garden, the woods and Mother Sauce's cart), its workshop (the alembic), its afternoon (the counter) and its night (upgrades and decorating). It takes place before El Aprendiz de Almar and spoils nothing of its story.
History
La Botica de Almar was born alongside El Aprendiz de Almar with one idea: to introduce Brezo and its people in a calm game, so players recognize them when the adventure begins. Four pillars guide every decision: brewing is the heart, there's always something free, Brezo before Almar, and a warm, local game.
It uses the same alembic and the same recipes as El Aprendiz de Almar, with its own cheerful, village-fair music. Art and design are by Romina López. It's built step by step, with automated tests on every change, and it's already playable from start to finish in the studio.
Features
- Almar's alembic: grind, mix in order and mind the fire; quality sets the price, the tip and your reputation.
- A 30-day story in five chapters, with 20 recipes that open up little by little.
- Twelve neighbors with stories who each come back three or four times.
- A day in four moments: garden and woods, workshop, counter and night, 8 to 12 minutes long.
- The shop grows: six upgrades and decorations to make it yours.
- Daily and weekly missions, a visit streak and Mother Sauce's cart (which can be haggled with).
- Free to play: the full story is free, ads only if you want them (up to 5 a day) and no loot boxes.
- For everyone, without asking for data: progress is saved on the phone.
- Art and design by Romina López; its own music, made in-house with recorded instruments.
