Description
Rail Critters is a three-lane pixel art runner where you run between trains with the fox, the cat, the panda and the rest of the gang.
Rail Critters is a free Android runner by Lopand Game Studio. Jump fences, slide under signs, climb ramps onto the train roofs and collect coins while the track rises, dips and turns through three worlds: the meadow, the desert and the night forest.
It has six characters and six outfits (the axolotl and the luchador suit are shop exclusives), power-ups, missions, a daily challenge with the same track for everyone, and achievements and leaderboards on Google Play Games. No ads; the optional purchases (two exclusives and supporting the studio) only change how it looks, and it plays offline.
History
Rail Critters started as a red square that jumped. On day one it changed genre: from a side-scroller to a three-lane runner seen from behind, with fake 3D like the arcade racers of the eighties and no 3D engine.
All the pixel art is by Romina López, the studio’s artist and designer, following an art guide: 64 pixels per meter, a single light source and a 32-color palette. The music and sound effects are made in-house too. The full story is in the studio devlog (in Spanish).

Lopand Game Studio is the video game studio of Lopand Solutions, a software development agency from Tlaquepaque, Jalisco, Mexico. It makes small mobile games that you get in seconds, with no ads that interrupt you and without collecting more data than needed. Rail Critters (2026) is its first game.
